How to Draw A King Cobra. Many different snakes can be found in the wild, and they can come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

In addition to this visual variety, they can also be dangerous to humans and other animals in different ways.

The king cobra is a snake; you don’t want to get on the bad side! These intimidating snakes contain deadly venom but are also very beautiful.

This can make learning to draw a king cobra a fun and uplifting experience. If you love this deadly yet beautiful snake, this is the tutorial!

How to Draw A King Cobra

Step 1

For this first step of our guide to drawing a king cobra, we’ll start with the part of the snake you least want to see: the head!

First, use some curved lines for the top of the head and then some more rounded lines for the top of the mouth.

Draw some small pointed shapes for the fangs on the roof of the mouth, and then use some more curved lines for the open mouth underneath.

A twisted, forked tongue also protrudes from this open mouth. Next, use a wavy line that extends from the back of the head to the base of the nape. Then go to step 2!

Step 2

The next step in your king cobra drawing is to add more body outlines for the snake. First, draw a curved line around the bottom of the mouth for the rim of the jaw.

You can also draw a smaller circular line around the base of the tongue.

Next, we draw two curvy lines going down from the head and turning around. This will be the next section of the body and the snake’s belly outline.

This part can be tricky, so try to copy the lines exactly as they appear in the reference image.

When you’re ready, we can move on to step 3!

Step 3

Before we add any more details, in this step of our guide to drawing a king cobra, we will finish the outline for the rest of the body.

The next section of the body follows the snake and is crooked and wavy to show that the snake is gliding.

This section can be tricky to troubleshoot, so feel free to copy the exact image we’ve provided!

Step 4

The entire outline of the body is now complete, so in the next few steps, we will add the finishing touches and finishing touches.

In this step, we will first draw the eyes for your king cobra drawing. To do this, first, draw a small circle with a slightly larger one around it.

Then draw a wavy line over it to give the snake a more intense expression. Finish off the eye by drawing a few small lines sticking out of it.

Next, draw some slightly curved horizontal lines across the snake’s belly. These would add friction to the snake so it could move if it were real.

We will take care of the last few details to prepare you for colouring. The first details will draw stripes along the body of the snake.

Once these are drawn, you can draw some rounded shapes underneath to show the shadow the snake is casting.

Then you are ready for the last step! Before proceeding, feel free to add more personal information.

One idea would be to add a background, which is a great way to show what environment you envision this snake in.

Step 6

Now it’s time to sit back and have some colouring fun in the final phase of this king cobra drawing! In our example image, we only showed you one set of colours that you could use for this.

We chose a few shades of light, dark green and yellow for the cobra’s body to create a bright and vibrant look.
